Bermuda Black Film Weekend, Founders Edition

There are stories at the bottom of the Atlantic that never made it to shore. On Thursday 15 October, we begin bringing them home.

Join us at the Bermuda Underwater Exploration Institute for the opening night of the first Bermuda Black Film Weekend. Arrive on the Black Carpet, raise a signature cocktail, and take your place among filmmakers, creatives and cultural leaders from across the diaspora.

At the heart of the evening, we present the first Black Atlantic Storytelling Award, our festival's highest honour, to Three Black Men: A Journey into the Magical Otherwise, directed by Los Angeles filmmaker Sienna McLean-LoGreco. A screening of the film follows, and the night closes with a conversation with our guest filmmakers.

This is where the voices of the Black Atlantic meet: Africa, the Americas, the Caribbean, Europe, and Bermuda at the centre. Come and be part of the first chapter.
